Module deliveries for 125-megawatt solar power plant and »energy village« have begun

Chinese solar group Trina Solar Co. Ltd. has delivered the first bifacial »Vertex« modules for a 125-megawatt ground-mounted solar power plant in Bundorf, Germany. The plant, designed by EPC company MaxSolar GmbH of Traunstein, Germany, for which ground was broken in October, is scheduled for completion in mid-2023.
A citizens’ solar park is planned on just under a third of the total area – 40 of 125 hectares – with an investment volume of around €30 million ($ 31.7 million) by energy cooperative Inn-Salzach eG (EGIS eG). The solar power plant is to act as the core for an »energy village« and supply a local district heating network with planned commissioning at the end of 2024 as well as e-car charging stations in the region.
