Post date: 04/05/2023 - 13:24
Swiss cell and module manufacturer Meyer Burger Technology AG has signed an off-take agreement for solar modules with Ingka Investments, an investment company of Swedish furniture group Ikea. The agreement, which runs from 2025 to 2029, covers modules that are »electrically and size optimized for utility-scale applications« and will be manufactured on the glass-glass module production platform at Meyer Burger’s factory in Goodyear, USA. The company did not provide further details, in particular on the agreed quantity and financial volume.
Apparently, the contract was already agreed in March, as Meyer Burger cites it as one of two announced on March 23 in connection with its 2022 figures. At the time, the company had also announced to increase the annual production capacity at Goodyear from 1.6 to 2.0 gigawatts, stating that the additional production volume would be »sold to two renowned companies through newly concluded offtake agreements, starting in 2025 and over a period of several years.«
