Maxeon reports rising losses

Maxeon Solar Technologies, Ltd, manufacturer of »Sunpower«-brand solar modules, reported higher losses in the first quarter of this year than in the previous quarter, despite increased sales. Maxeon sold modules with a total capacity of 488 megawatts (MW), and revenues were $223.1 million. This resulted in a gross loss of $13 million, and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) were negative $33.6 million.
In the fourth quarter of 2021, Maxeon had generated revenues of $221.5 million on module sales of 577 MW, with a gross loss of $10.5 million and EBITDA of negative $32.8 million.
