Longi announces new technology for module encapsulation

Chinese solar group Longi Green Energy Technology Co. Ltd. (Longi Solar) has developed a new technology for module encapsulation called »Seamless Soldering«. According to the company, there is »no more gap between the cells,« which increases the efficiency of solar modules. A solder tape is used to achieve a »tiled« connection between the cells, »whereby the usual two millimeter gap between the cells disappears completely.« The technology is to be used in series production in the second half of 2019.
