China's Longi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has unveiled a perovskite silicon tandem cell with an efficiency of 33.9 percent, beating the previous record of 33.7 percent set by Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST) in May this year. The figure was confirmed by the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Just a few months earlier, Longi had published a value of 33.5 percent for a perovskite silicon tandem cell at Intersolar Europe.
Longi did not disclose any further details, particularly regarding the cell area and long-term stability.
