Juwi starts construction of the 204 MW »Kozani« PV plant in Greece

The Greek subsidiary of the German Juwi AG has started the construction of Europe's largest bifacial solar park in northern Greece. The 204 MW »Kozani« PV plant will be installed on an area of 450 hectares and is scheduled to go online at the end of 2021. According to the company, the yield will increase by up to five percent due to bifacial modules and is forecast to reach 300 million kilowatt hours annually. The investment volume is €130 million ($154 million).
Within the framework of the Greek renewable energy auction in April 2019, Juwi secured 47 percent of the awarded tender volume with the project. In total, projects with a volume of 635 MW participated and 437 MW were awarded. According to the company, »Kozani« is the largest single project to date for the Juwi Group. At the beginning of this year, Juwi sold the plant to the operator Hellenic Petroleum Group.
