Juwi to build 204 MW solar park in Greece

German project developer Juwi AG has been awarded the contract for a 204 MW solar power plant called »Kozani« through its subsidiary Juwi Hellas SA in the most recent tender for wind and solar projects in Greece. This corresponds to 47 percent of the tender quantity awarded. In total, projects with a volume of 635 MW had participated in the auction, 437 MW were awarded. According to the company, the Juwi Group competed with four other solar projects and one wind project in the 30-minute online auction. Juwi secured a remuneration of 5.7 Eurocents (¢6.4) per kilowatt hour for the Kozani solar park with an expected annual yield of 300 million kilowatt hours.
Location is in northern Greece about 15 kilometers from the city of Kozani. Construction is scheduled to start in December 2019 and to be completed in April 2021. Juwi acquired the project rights in November 2017 and developed the project to market maturity. The company has been active in Greece for more than ten years, and has connected more than 50 renewable energy systems with an installed capacity of over 100 MW.
