Juwi has announced that Jost Backhaus will take over as CEO on October 1, with responsibility for finance, human resources, legal affairs, strategy, and portfolio management. He succeeds Carsten Bovenschen, who left the company on May 31, 2025, for personal reasons. Together with Christian Arnold and Stephan Hansen, he forms the company’s three-member management team.

The trained industrial engineer has been working in the renewable energy sector for over 26 years, most recently as managing director of Steelwind GmbH in Nordenham, Lower Saxony, a manufacturer of foundations for offshore wind turbines, since 2023. Prior to that, he was a member of the executive board responsible for the operational business of Enercon GmbH, an international manufacturer of onshore wind turbines. Jost Backhaus has also held other management positions in companies in the wind industry.

Hansjörg Roll, Chairman of the Juwi Shareholders’ Meeting, says: »With Jost Backhaus, we welcome an accomplished expert in the renewable energy industry. Thanks to his extensive management experience in both national and international environments, he will make a significant contribution to the continued successful development of Juwi in the future. At the same time, we would like to thank Christian Arnold and Stephan Hansen, who will continue to carry out their responsibilities as co-CEOs in close consultation with us until Jost Backhaus takes up his position.«
