Jinko with further rapidly increasing sales

China’s Jinko Solar Holding Co, Ltd. posted sales of 18.84 billion renminbi yuan (RMB; $2.72 billion) in the second quarter of this year, up 27.6 percent from the first quarter (RMB 14.76 billion) and up 137.6 percent from the same quarter last year (RMB 7.93 billion). During the report period, Jinko shipped 10.18 gigawatts of solar modules and 349 megawatts of wafers and solar cells to third-party customers. This represents a 25.5 percent quarter-on-quarter and 102.4 percent year-on-year increase in sales.
Gross profit increased 24.2 percent from RMB 2.23 billion to RMB 2.77 billion ($400.3 million) compared to the first quarter and 103.7 percent year-on-year (RMB 1.36 billion). However, the company still reported a bottom-line net loss of RMB 346.5 million ($50.1 million), mainly due to increased disposal and impairment losses on property, plant and equipment, according to the company, compared to a plus of RMB 104.3 million in the previous quarter and a plus of RMB 166.9 million year on year.
