Investment firm Antin to become majority shareholder in Blue Elephant

Global investment firm Antin Infrastructure Partners is to become majority shareholder in German solar and wind power project developer and operator Blue Elephant Energy AG (BEE) on undisclosed terms. The company currently operates around 1.3 gigawatts of generation capacity in Europe and is – to a lesser extent – also active in Latin America.
With this transaction, the »Antins Fund V« is making its first investment. It is intended to help finance Blue Elephant’s future growth. »We are convinced that BEE is only at the start of its growth story,« Stéphane Ifker, senior partner at Antin, said in a statement. BEE’s management will remain in place, and the existing major shareholders will also retain their holdings. The transaction, which is currently still subject to regulatory approvals, is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year.
