Indonesia's state-owned power company PT PLN plans to auction at least 157 renewable power projects with a combined capacity of 4,718 MW in 2019 and 2020, according to French consultancy Enerdata. The auctions are still under preparation and will include geothermal projects, hydropower projects and solar projects, says the article.
Until June, PLN had commissioned 10 percent of its 35,000 MW capacity addition programme set in May 2015, with 3,617 MW operational. PLN expects to have another six power plants (2.2 GW) operational by the end of 2019. A further 117 power plants, totalling 20,120 MW (57 percent of the target), are still under construction; 1,453 MW of power projects are in the procurement phase (4 percent of the total) and 734 MW are in the planning phase (2 percent). Finally, the remaining 60 projects totalling 9,516 MW (27 percent of the target) have secured purchase and sell agreements but are not yet under construction, says Enerdata.
