India’s total installed solar capacity reached 31.5 GW, study

The total installed solar capacity in India grew to 31,496 MW by end of the first quarter 2019. Total project pipeline has grown to reach an all-time high of 18,438 MW, according to the latest edition of »India Solar Compass« report published by consultancy Bridge to India. New tender issuance has continued to soar with nineteen new utility scale solar tenders aggregating 15,733 MW issued in the quarter. But only 3,697 MW capacity was successfully allocated. »Equipment prices have stayed firm but there is the possibility of slide downwards later in 2019 depending mainly on Chinese demand status,« estimates the company.
The report provides a detailed quarterly update of all sector trends and developments – including capacity addition, leading players, tender and policy issuance, and equipment prices – as well as the consultancy’s outlook over the next two quarters.
