Indian utility RUMSL tenders 600 MW floating solar capacity in Madhya Pradesh

Indian utility Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd. (RUMSL) has invited bids to develop a 600 MW floating solar park at the Omkareshwar reservoir in Madhya Pradesh. According to Mercom India, the facility will comprise six units of 100 MW each. RUMSL will provide the evacuating infrastructure for the projects.
According to the utility, the World Bank (WB) will provide technical and financial assistance. WB had appointed a consultant for prefeasibility analysis of the project which involves hydrographic survey, geophysical survey, topographic survey, geotechnical investigations, environmental and social screening and study of suitable marine structures for the floating PV project.
Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited was formed in 2015 and is a Joint Venture Company of Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVN), and Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). RUMSL has been designated as Solar Power Park Developer (SPPD) by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) to develop large-scale solar parks in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
