IBC reacts to »bureaucratic hurdles« in Turkey

IBC Solar project in Türkey (3,4 MW power plant in Nigde province)

German PV system house IBC Solar AG will reduce its operations in Turkey to acting as a supplier for rooftop systems. This will take place in cooperation with the newly founded company IBT Solar, which is managed by Bülent Yildiz and Hakan Daltaban, the former managing directors of the Turkish subsidiary IBC Solar Yatirimlari ve Tic. Ltd. (IBC Solar Energy Turkey). IBT Solar is to take over »market development for the rooftop project business«. The trading business will in future be managed from Germany.
Turkey remains for IBC »still an important market with a lot of potential«, according to a company statement. But the »bureaucratic hurdles«, especially for large PV systems, are meanwhile »very high«. The previous possibility to formally divide large projects into small tranches of one MW in order to »ensure an uncomplicated grid connection in compliance with the statutory provisions« no longer existed since the beginning of the year.
