Hanwha Solutions and Solarwatt enter into patent license agreement

Hanwha Solutions, the parent company of Hanwha Q Cells GmbH, and Dresden-based Solarwatt GmbH have signed an agreement that will allow Solarwatt to continue selling solar modules protected by licensed patent 2220689 (EP `689). The license agreement covers the »Q.antum« technology, a variant of PERC technology developed by Q Cells in 2012.
Solarwatt CEO Detlef Neuhaus expressed his satisfaction with the solution now reached: »The agreement with Hanwha Solutions creates legal certainty not only for us, but also for our installation partners and our customers.«
A corresponding license agreement with Hanwha Solutions had already been reached by Chinese Trina Solar in mid-February. The agreements were preceded by a legal dispute, which Hanwha was able to win in December 2022.
