[Dachau, 24.06.2025] With a completely revamped product line and a clear strategic realignment, GridParity is launching a new AgriPV initiative that is economically viable even without the controversial bonus scheme included in the solar package. In view of the political uncertainties surrounding Solar Package II, GridParity is focusing on independence, transparency, and cost-efficient system solutions – with success: AgriPV systems close to farms are economically viable starting at just €350,000 per megawatt peak (MWp).

Solar package or not – GridParity lowers barriers to entry

“We wanted to create a system that doesn’t depend on political favors,” explains project manager Eva Muhle. “Our customers need planning security and functioning business models – now, not sometime in the future.”

The revised pricing structure allows electricity production costs of just 3 to 4 cents per kWh, even with full feed-in to the grid. This means that investments can be solidly financed even below the regular EEG remuneration of 6.89 cents/kWh – without any additional bonuses.

Eight system variants – optimized for agriculture

GridParity offers eight tried-and-tested AgriPV systems that can be individually configured depending on the type of crop, light requirements, and soil conditions.

The systems are based on single-axis trackers with bifacial modules, pent roof and gable roof systems, and can be optionally equipped with PV modules of varying transparency – ideal for special crops such as berries, lettuce, herbs, wine, extensive grassland, or animal husbandry.

Starting prices begin at approx. €350,000 per MWp (DC side) and around €600,000 for a turnkey system including transformer station, medium-voltage system, and grid connection.

FarmHub® – the future of energy from the farm

A central component of the new initiative is the integrated FarmHub® system: a modular energy center on the farm that combines AgriPV, battery storage, grid connection, and flexible electricity marketing. All systems are designed to be expanded with 5 or 10 MWh large batteries. The complete FarmHub® configuration, including grid connection, is available from €1.1 million.

This enables the farm not only to generate renewable electricity, but also to provide grid services, store electricity, and trade it – thus developing into a stable, regional energy anchor.

“FarmHub® is our contribution to the energy transition from the bottom up, especially from agriculture, which has already been a pioneer in renewable energy,” emphasizes Dr. Erich Merkle, CEO of GridParity. “We bring the technologies where they are needed: to farms, to the region, to the farmers’ property.”

FarmerCapitel® – build, save, strengthen

Parallel to the system development, GridParity has set up the FarmerCapitel® participation model. This allows agricultural businesses to take on parts of the system installation themselves, such as foundation work, steel construction, or cable laying.

The advantages:

  • Cost savings of up to 30%
  • Recognition of own work as equity
  • Greater identification with the project
  • Learning and qualification effects in the business

“FarmerCapitel® is not a DIY kit, but a professionally supported path to participation and value creation,” says Muhle. “Especially in economically challenging times, it offers farmers a new role: from consumer to producer, from electricity consumer to energy manager and market player.”

Conclusion: GridParity makes AgriPV the investment model of the future

With its new product line, GridParity has created a technically mature, immediately implementable solution for farmers who no longer want to wait for political detours. The combination of AgriPV, large-scale storage, and active participation via FarmerCapitel® enables the development of energy-self-sufficient farms that operate economically in the long term and are secured for generations.
