Grenergy signs PPA for 150 MW »Belinchón« solar farm in Cuenca

Spanish developer and EPC company Grenergy Renewables SA has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with an unnamed major electricity group for approximately 200 GWh per year. Grenergy will sell part of the energy produced by its »Belinchón« solar farm. Located in the municipality of Barajas de Melo in Cuenca, the plant will have an installed capacity of 150 MW and an estimated production of 315 GWh per year, using bifacial PV modules. The company expects it to come into operation in 2022, although the agreement will not be activated until March 2023.
Grenergy is also building a 200 MW PV facility called »Escuderos« which is expected to be connected still in September. In late 2019 the company announced the signing of a framework agreement with Portuguese energy company Galp for the sale of long-term energy from this plant of up to 360 GWh per year over a period of 12 years.
According to David Ruiz de Andrés, CEO of Grenergy, the company's goal it to reach 1.5 GW in operation by 2022. The global pipeline is about 6 GW in various stages of development in the eight countries where it operates in the European market (Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom) and Latin America (Chile, Peru, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia).
