Grenergy to enter German market with 3 GW by 2025

Spanish renewable energy project developer and independent power producer Grenergy Renovables SA has announced its entry into the German solar market. A release reads that the company plans to start implementing projects from 2023, with at least three gigawatts in development by 2025. The market entry is to be carried out by a country manager and a 15-person team based in Berlin.
The company sees »a large growth opportunity in Germany« after the government increased the expansion targets and the individual federal states improved flexibility in site selection and, in addition, the approval procedures are to be accelerated. Clenergy intends to become active in the segment of tender projects as well as in plants with power purchase agreements (PPAs).
Grenergy is a listed company and, in addition to Spain, has so far been active in the U.S., and Latin America (Chile, Peru, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia), as well as in Italy, Poland and the UK. The company cites Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic and Austria as its next European target markets. Currently, Grenergy is pursuing projects at various stages of development with a total capacity of 11.5 GW, including 8.6 GW of PV.
