Goldbeck develops solar system in the shape of an arch

German Goldbeck Solar GmbH is currently developing a solar plant called »Mounted Arch System« (MarcS). The aim is to make land usable twice for both agriculture and power generation. The modules are installed in the shape of an arch. According to the company, this allows »larger areas of ground to be stably built over and space to be created under the system.«
The arches are installed on rails and can be flexibly moved to protect or release targeted areas, the company said. The entire structure is scalable, relocatable and can also be installed automatically. In a waterproof version, rainwater can also be collected and stored. »MarcS« is to be unveiled in an online event next week.
