Germany's »market value solar« below previous year’s level

Germany’s »market value solar« for December 2022 is 24.661 euro cents (26.247 US cents) per kilowatt hour. This means that the average revenue generated by transmission system operators in exchange trading of electricity from PV systems subsidized under the Renewable Energy Law (EEG) increased by 60.4 percent compared to November (15.374 euro cents). However, compared to December 2021 (27.075 euro cents), the market value decreased by 8.9 percent. It recorded its all-time high of 39.910 euro cents in August 2022.
The market value depends to a large extent on the exchange electricity prices and is usually slightly below, and rarely above, their level. The average price in the day-ahead market of the Epex Spot power exchange in the base-load segment was 25.162 euro cents in December, 17.363 euro cents in November and 22.106 euro cents in December 2021; in August, it was 46.518 euro cents.
