Germany's EEG levy surplus reaches €3.42 billion at the end of October

The German EEG levy account, which funds Germany’s renewable energy programs, had a cumulative surplus of €3.42 billion ($3.99 billion) at the end of October (October 2016: €1.85 billion).
In October alone, revenue generated by the levy totaled €2.11 billion. Payments for operators of renewable-energy-power plants and other expenditure totaled €2.01 billion.
