Germany's EEG levy surplus decreased to €4.8 billion in May

The German EEG levy account, which funds Germany’s renewable energy programs, had a cumulative surplus of €4.79 billion ($5.42 billion) at the end of May. This is a decline of around €641million compared to April.
In May alone, revenue generated by the levy totaled €2.06 billion. Payments for operators of renewable-energy-power plants and other expenditure totaled about €2.70 billion.
