Germany's EEG levy surplus decreased to €2.9 billion in August

The German EEG levy account, which funds Germany’s renewable energy programs, had a cumulative surplus of €2.92 billion ($3.21 billion) at the end of August. This is a decline of around €538 million compared to July.
In August alone, revenue generated by the levy totaled €2.01 billion. Payments for operators of renewable-energy-power plants and other expenditure totaled about €2.55 billion.
