Germany registers 193 MW of new PV capacity in January

Germany’s cumulative installed PV capacity topped 35.88 GW at the end of January.

Germany registered approximately 6,000 new PV systems with a combined capacity of 193.4 MW in January 2014, according to new figures from the German Federal Network Agency. This is up from 166.0 MW in December and down from 274.7 MW in January 2013. Of these new PV systems, only 28 have a capacity between 1 and 10 MW, while around 130 have a capacity between 100 kW and 1 MW. In 2013, Germany added 3.30 GW of PV power, substantially less that it did in the same period of 2012, when it added 7.27 GW. According to the German Federal Network Agency, Germany’s cumulative installed PV capacity topped 35.88 GW at the end of January.
