German environmental organization distributes »balcony power plants« to low-income households

German environmental protection organization Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) has launched a »campaign to provide targeted relief for low-income households« with funding from the German Postcode Lottery. Next spring, the association plans to award »several hundred« small, plug-in photovoltaic systems – so-called balcony power plants. DUH did not yet provide details.
»After the federal government has met the energy price crisis this year with relief packages in a scattergun approach,« DUH wants to start »its own action for the targeted relief of low-income households.« The association is moreover generally committed to simplified conditions for the use of balcony power plants and has already launched a corresponding campaign in November.
