Gentari acquires Australian Wirsol Energy

Gentari Sdn Bhd, a renewable energy company belonging to the Malaysian state-owned petroleum company Petronas, through its Australian subsidiary Gentari Renewables Australia (Solar) Pty Ltd has acquired the Australian Wirsol Energy Pty Ltd from the German company group Wircon GmbH. According to a statement by the two companies, 422 megawatts (MW) of plants in operation and 765 MW of projects under development (in the picture project outline for the »Maryvale Solar and Energy Storage«) will be transferred to Gentari on undisclosed terms.
Gentari’s portfolio of renewable energy assets will grow to 1.6 gigawatts (GW) of installed capacity in Malaysia, India, the United Arab Emirates and Australia with the transaction, according to the statement. The company is targeting 30 to 40 GW by 2030 and aims to position itself as a producer of green hydrogen with Australia as »a strategic market« in this regard.
