GE to deliver 174 MW inverters to Atlas Renewable Energy solar projects in Brazil

GE Power was chosen by Brazilian solar developer Atlas Renewable Energy to provide LV5 1,500-volt solar skid solutions to its two solar projects »Juazeiro« (120 MW) and »São Pedro« (54 MW) located in Bahia State, north of Brazil. GE will provide the inverters in 4 MW or 2 MW solar skids. Manufactured in its factory in Betim, GE’s LV5 obtained accreditation from the Brazilian Economical and Social Development Bank (BNDES). According to the company, the BNDES accreditation will allow GE’s customers to get BNDES financing at more attractive interest rates. GE has so far secured nearly 1 GW of order in the country and will ship in total half a gigawatt by the end of this year to support local solar farms.
Established in 2017, Atlas Renewable Energy is a renewable energy developer formed by the private investment firm Actis. The company was founded as a result of an acquisition of over 1,500 MW of Sunedison's Latin American assets by Actis. Atlas Renewable Energy's operational scope encompasses Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay and Chile. Atlas is Actis' fifth power generation platform in Latin America, following recent investments in Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Central America.
