Ningxia Qingyang New Energy Co. Ltd., which is 51% owned by GCL-Poly, energized a 100 MW PV power plant in the Tengger Desert in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, while another subsidiary, Datong Xian GCL Solar Power Co. Ltd., connected a 60 MW plant in Shanxi Province. The latter project is the second phase of a 100 MW PV project. Phase I, a 20 MW power plant, was connected to the grid in April 2013. Phase III, another 20 MW power plant, is scheduled to come online in the »near future.« The Shanxi plant is the largest operational solar power plant in the province.
