Gamesa presents white paper on grid functions of state-of-the-art inverters

Gamesa Electric, the Spanish supplier of power electronics for energy systems, has presented a white paper that formulates requirements for modern solar inverters in terms of functions to support and safeguard grid operation. As in the German research project »StABIL« (see our news item from today), the main focus is on the use as »grid-forming« inverters that react quickly to frequency fluctuations and also support a so-called black start of failed subgrids.
The white paper describes in particular how Gamesas’ »Proteus« inverters in interaction with the plant control system »Gamesa Electric Orchestra« already meet such requirements from the manufacturer's point of view.
