Italian module manufacturer FuturaSun Srl is planning to build a module factory with an annual production capacity of two gigawatts in the industrial area of Cittadella (Padua). This involves investments of € 25 million ($ ## million) »in the coming years.«
Alessandro Barin, CEO of FuturaSun (photo), explains: »With this new industrial hub, we believe we can enhance our hometown while also becoming a reference point in the REpowerEU plan and the European Green Deal to revive the Italian and European photovoltaic industrial supply chain in support of continental energy transition strategies.« The new headquarters will also include a research center, a test field for product control and improvement, and a training center.
FuturaSun, founded in Cittadella in 2008, operates its own module production facility with a production capacity of one gigawatt in China, which is currently being expanded.
