Fronius presented its “Fronius Verto” inverter series at last year’s Intersolar, followed this year by the successor model “Fronius Verto Plus”. The hybrid inverter “Made in Austria” is characterized by a powerful emergency power supply and, thanks to three MPP trackers, a high degree of flexibility in system design. The devices are available in six power classes with output powers between 15 kW (Verto Plus 15.0) and 33.3 kW (Verto Plus 33.0). The input voltage range is very wide at 150 to 1,000 volts, while the usable MPP voltage range is specified as 150 to 870 volts. The preliminary data sheet that Fronius has published on its website does not yet contain any information on efficiency. Fronius’ target group is agricultural businesses, small businesses, but also larger single and multi-family homes.
Fronius recommends the device in combination with its own Fronius Reserva battery storage system. “Even large consumers are reliably supplied with power around the clock and even during grid outages with the fully-fledged, three-phase emergency power supply,” the company explains. The backup power boost function also offers the option of increasing the output power in emergency power mode at short notice in order to immediately put important power consumers back into operation.
The Verto Plus devices have integrated and replaceable AC and DC surge protection devices (SPDs) and a high protection rating of IP66. Automatic arc detection (AFCI) provides additional protection against the risk of fire.
