The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) approved US utility Florida Power & Light (FPL) Company's four-year rate settlement agreement which include the largest solar buildout in the United States. FPL's plans to add 16 million solar panels across more than 50 new sites to develop solar projects with a cumulative capacity of about 3.5 gigawatt. Furthermore, the company aims to install a bulk of EV charging stations in Florida.
FPL's new four-year rate plan directly supports the company's »30-by-30« plan to install 30 million solar panels in Florida by 2030, which remains ahead of schedule and under budget. Furthermore, the approval leads to an »early closing of a coal unit located in Georgia,« in which FPL has a partial interest.
