Enel calls Oklahoma the »leading candidate« for the location of its 3 GW factory in the U.S.

Italian energy company Enel S.p.A. is likely to build the solar cell and module factory planned by its subsidiary 3Sun at a site in Oklahoma, probably in the Tulsa region. According to a report by Reuters agency, Giovanni Bertolino, head of 3Sun USA, said the company had »identified Oklahoma as the leading candidate.« However, local media reported back in mid-April that there was currently no agreement in the state Senate on the proposed subsidy package for the plant.
Enel has been active in the state for about ten years, but so far as an operator of wind power plants. Last November, the company announced the construction of a solar factory with an annual production capacity of three gigawatts in the USA.
