EDF Renewables acquires 529 MW portfolio from MEC Energy

EDF Renewables, the renewable energy subsidiary of French energy group EDF, is acquiring a portfolio of 529 megawatts (MW) of total capacity in northern and northeastern Germany from project developer MEC Energy, a subsidiary of Düsseldorf-based MEC Group GmbH. The 17 ground-mounted plants, with capacities ranging from eight to 99 MW, have » with expected ready-to-build dates between 2024 and 2025«. The agreement also includes development services by MEC Energy. Details particularly on the purchase price were not disclosed. German Capcora GmbH acted as »exclusive sell-side M&A advisor« in the deal, with the Hamburg office of UK-based Watson Farley & Williams LLP (WWF) providing legal advice.
