Delo presents adhesive for thin-film solar cells

German industrial adhessives manufacturer Delo Industrie Klebstoffe GmbH & Co KGaA has supplemented its product range with adhesives based on epoxy resin or acrylate, which are »well suited for bonding the protective films of thin-film solar cells« and at the same time provide »an effective barrier against humidity.«
The adhesive »DELO KATIOBOND LP655« has a water vapor permeability of 6 grams per millimeter per square meter in 24 hours, proven by tests at a temperature of 60 degrees Celsius and 90 percent relative humidity. On the PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic frequently used for the backsheet of solar modules, the adhesive also has a »high peel resistance.« The adhesive, which »cures in seconds« under UV light, is suitable for slot-die coating and also for roll-to-roll processes.
