CSUN to expand its downstream business after sale of first UK PV power plant

CSUN has sold a 5 MW PV power plant in the UK, marking a major milestone in relation to the company’s downstream business.

Chinese cell and module manufacturer China Sunergy Co. Ltd. (CSUN) has achieved a major milestone, completing the sale of its first PV project in the UK. CSUN has sold a 5 MW PV project in Cornwall, England to UK developer Lightsource Renewable Energy Ltd. for an undisclosed sum. The power plant is one of two 5 MW plants CSUN completed in March 2013 using its own multicrystalline modules. The company expects to sell the second plant at some point this year.
CSUN states that the sale of the first project marks a major milestone in relation to the company’s downstream business and strengthens its confidence in investing and developing a project pipeline in other markets.
