Colombia awarded Univergy to build a 121 MW PV project

Univergy’s 32 MW plant »Fukuroda« in Japan

The Hispanic-Japanese project developer Univergy International through an agreement with its strategic partner Trina Solar, has been the winner for the development of the 121 MW PV site »El Campano«, located in Chinu (Colombia), in a recently awarded auction. The project is part of a 256 MW agreement to be build by Univergy and Trina Solar in the country. The energy will be carried out through private PPA. Details were not disclosed.
According to the company, Univergy, which has an office located in Barranquilla, began to develop the portfolio of projects with a combined capacity of 600 MW in Colombia more than three years ago. Worldwide the portfolio of projects in development in 20 countries is exceeding 3.5 GW.
