The Austrian company CCE Clean Capital Energy is building its first battery storage system in Halle (Saale) to make renewable energy more flexible for around 3,600 households in the city. The storage system has a capacity of 20 megawatt hours with an output of ten megawatt hours and was manufactured by Intilion AG from Paderborn.
Daniel Zwick, Head of the Halle Climate Protection Service Center: “The city of Halle is very active when it comes to climate protection, and this system can be used to sensibly regulate the weather-dependent oversupply or undersupply of green electricity.”
Intilion is not only supplying the battery storage system, but is also handling the complete integration. “We will start setting up the construction site in the next few days. This will be followed by the civil engineering work, the construction of the concrete foundation and the laying of the cable routes,” explains André Haubrock, CEO of Intilion. Commissioning of the plant is planned for late summer this year.
