Brookfield acquires German renewable energy asset manager

Lampe Equity Management, the asset manager of the CEE Group, is being sold to Canadian Brookfield Asset Management. According to the company, the sale will be completed until the end of the year. The parties have not disclosed the purchase price.
The asset management unit of the CEE Group holds various renewable energy funds. These have been managed for more than 15 years by Lampe Equity Management, a subsidiary of German Bankhaus Lampe. With five CEE renewable funds for institutional investors currently and assets under management worth around €1.3 billion, the CEE Group is one of the largest German investors in renewables. The funds consists of about 50 wind parks and solar farms in Germany and France. The installed capacity is about 600 MW. As part of the transaction, all of Lampe Equity Management’s employees at the Hamburg location, in total around 40 people, will join Brookfield.
