Bridge to India expects module prices of ¢25 to ¢26/W

Indian consultancy firm Bridge to India expects global PV demand to stagnate in 2017 at about 75 GW, while manufacturers are still expanding their production capacities. As a result, »2017 is likely to end with prices in the range of ¢25 to ¢26/W«, the consultancy said in an overview and outlook it published yesterday. Bridge to India expects demand in China to be around 28 GW, compared to 36 GW in 2016. The Japanese, European and US market are not expected to create growing demand. Even with lower pricing and rapidly growing demand in several other countries such as India, the analysts do not believe the global manufacturing capacity, which they believe to be around 100 GW at the end of the year, could be well utilized.
