Brazilian project developer Lisarb plans gigawatt portfolio in Europe

Renewable energy project developer Lisarb Energy has opened an office in Lisbon and plans to expand its operations to Europe. Founded in 2017, the company is headquartered in London but has only been active in Brazil. It is now aiming for a portfolio in Europe with a total capacity of one gigawatt by 2023, and has already signed long-term power purchase agreements with »some of the world’s leading corporate brands« for this purpose, according to a statement. In Lisbon, an initial team of six will work with management in the U.K. and report to the newly appointed »Head of Europe,« António Loureiro.
In addition to developing its own projects, Lisarb also acquires existing assets from third parties. As an »integrated power producer,« the company operates the plants itself and markets the electricity generated there. In Brazil, Lisarb Energy’s PV portfolio comprises almost 40 projects, albeit all still under development or construction, ranging from low single-digit megawatt to gigawatt solar power plants.
