BayWa r.e. to open offices and warehouse in Krakow in April

German renewable energy project developer BayWa r.e. Renewable Energy GmbH plans to expand its photovoltaic trading business in Poland in April, opening a logistics center in Krakow. According to Lukasz Zaziabl, managing director of BayWa r.e. Solar Systems in Poland, the new warehouse space will cover about 5,700 square meters.
A »stable legal situation, government subsidies and an increasing focus on renewable energies instead of fossil fuels« have contributed to »sustained growth« in the market for rooftop photovoltaic systems, he said. By the end of 2020, small-scale systems reportedly accounted for more than 70 percent of total installed solar power capacity in Poland.
To import systems and products into Poland, installers have often had to make currency exchanges. »This is inconvenient for customers and delays delivery,« Lukasz Zaziabl said. »Once the new warehouse and offices are open, our customers can pay us directly.« Delivery times would also be significantly improved, and there would also be a training area.
