BayWa r.e. acquires French project developer Enerpole

German BayWa r.e. AG is acquiring Enerpole, a French developer of solar projects. The company, founded in 2005 in Carcassonne in the south of France, has reportedly been working with BayWa for several years.
Through the purchase, the group secures a 600 MW portfolio, consisting of 300 MW of solar and 300 MW of wind capacity. The Enerpole employees will be taken over by BayWa r.e. AG, which currently employs 130 people in France and plans to hire another 30 this year.
BayWa r.e. has been active in France since 2005. The company has built wind and solar farms there with a capacity of 315 MW and is responsible for the technical and commercial management of nearly 600 MW. The pipeline in France includes PV projects with a capacity of 1.2 GW and wind power plants with a capacity of one gigawatt.
