Avantus puts solar project pipeline at 50 gigawatts

U.S. solar developer Avantus LLC, which operated as 8minute Solar Energy LLC until the middle of this month, says its project pipeline has reached the 50 gigawatt threshold, including 42 gigawatts of PV and storage systems with 78 gigawatt-hours of capacity. According to the company, the project volume has doubled over the past two years.
Avantus is pursuing more than 90 large-scale projects in California, Texas and the southwestern United States. The company pegs the required investment at more than $70 billion. The project pipeline is now one of the largest in the international solar industry. However, Avantus does not provide details on the current status of implementation.
The company is »backed by leading investors in the global energy and infrastructure sectors,« including EIG Partners, which is also represented on Avantus' board. Last January, Avantus (then 8minute Solar Energy) and EIG entered into a USD 400 million financing agreement.
