Architecture Award Building-Integrated Solar Technology 2022 presented

With the »Architecture Award for Building-Integrated Solar Technology 2022«, Germany’s Solar Energy Promotion Association of Bavaria (SEV) has awarded »excellent examples from all over the world for constructing with solar energy« for the ninth time. 121 works were submitted, twelve of which came from universities.
The first prize of 15,000 euros (USD 15,925) was awarded to a submission by Swiss Megasol Energie AG: the building of the Office of Energy and Environment in Basel with its 167-kilowatt system. One of five second prizes (endowed with 2,000 euros each) also went to Basel for the headquarters of the Coop trading cooperative submitted by Büro Burckhardt+Partner AG. The solar modules used here were again supplied by Megasol. The »Portalen« office building in Drammen (Norway) designed by Lund+Slaatto Arkitekter, the Gare Maritime in Brussels, the »Winter-Plusenergiehaus sol'CH« in Poschiavo (Switzerland) and the Children’s Surgical Hospital in Entebbe (Uganda) also received awards. A »Students Award« (2,000 euros) went to the Solar Decathlon Europe contribution of »Team coLLab« of the Stuttgart, Germany University of Applied Sciences.
