Chinese module manufacturer Aiko has increased the output of its »Infinite« series. The »Black« version now achieves an output of up to 490 watts, while the »White« version reaches up to 500 watts. Both versions are available with a foil or glass back. With an area of just under two square meters, this results in a module efficiency of 25 percent. According to Aiko, this is the world’s first 500-watt solar module with an area of less than two square meters (the exact dimensions are 1,762 millimeters by 1,134 millimeters, which corresponds to an area of 1.998 square meters).

According to Aiko, it achieves this high efficiency through a two-stage process in which the formation of the p-type and n-type tunneling oxide and polycrystalline silicon layers is separated from each other. This decoupling makes it possible to optimize each region independently of the other, thereby maximizing the passivation quality. Aiko believes that efficiencies of over 27 percent are achievable in series production. Another special feature is Aiko’s copper interconnection, in which silver-based paste is replaced by copper.

The Infinite series has been available since March 2025.
