Adani won 3 GW of solar projects in 6.4 GW tender in India

Adani Green Energy Ltd., part of the Adani Group, won 3,000 MW of 6.4 GW solar projects tendered by Andhra Pradesh Green Energy Corporation (APGECL). The plants will be developed at five separate solar parks, according to consultancy Mercom India. Adani quoted $0.035 per kWh for developing four projects totaling 2,400 MW, and quoted a tariff of $0.036 per kWh to develop another 600 MW. Torrent Power quotes the lowest bid of $0.033 per kWh for 300 MW. This is the lowest tariff in a solar auction in the state to date, says Mercom India. The previous low tariff discovered in the state auction was $0.039 per kWh in 2018.
Other winners were NTPC, Shirdi Sai Electricals and HES Infra. APGECL’s solar auction for 6.4 GW of solar projects spread out over ten separate locations. The tender was oversubscribed by 8.5 GW.
