»8minutenergy Renewables« changed name to »8minute Solar Energy«

8minutenergy Renewables, LLC, US independent solar and storage developer, has launched a new corporate brand identity and changed its name to »8minute Solar Energy« (8minute). Along with the new name, the company announced a new logo and simplified domain name (www.8minute.com). The origin of the name is that energy from the sun, reaches the earth in just 8 minutes.
»The new name reflects the developer’s belief that large-scale solar power plants with integrated energy storage will dominate the future of energy generation,« says the company, and it comes on the tenth anniversary of the company’s formation. In December 2018 the company’s co-founder Tom Buttgenbach and the 8minutenergy management announced to purchase the company’s shares of founder Martin Hermann. With this ownership change, Hermann transitioned out of his CEO role and shareholder, and Buttgenbach transitioned to President and CEO.
8minute has over 14 GW of solar and storage under development in California, the Southwest, Texas, and the Southeast, with more than 2 GW of solar power plants now in operation.
