421 MW of new PV capacity in Germany in October

The German Bundesnetzagentur (Federal Network Agency) today announced the figures for PV systems newly registered in October. A total of 421.1 MW was registered, 8.8 percent more than in September and 12.0 percent more than in October last year. Extrapolated for the year as a whole, the capacity of around 3.92 GW registered from January to October corresponds to an annual newly installed capacity of 4.71 GW; this would be almost 22 percent more than in 2019.
Of the 18,263 systems registered in October, 15,023 (82.3 percent) belong to the category of small private rooftop systems up to ten kW, accounting for a total of 113.9 MW or around 27 percent of the newly installed capacity. In contrast, 17 large systems from 750 kW upwards (0.1 percent of all entries) together account for 19.1 percent of the capacity. Medium-sized roof-mounted systems (ten to 40 kW, 40 to 100 and 100 to 750 kW) account for 45 percent of the total capacity with a total of 189 MW.
